How to Apply for Funding
Determine Your Eligibility
All applicant organizations must qualify as tax-exempt under the Internal Revenue Code.
Applicants should determine if their organization or project would fit our mission statement and values by reviewing them on the homepage.
We do not fund the following:

annual funds, galas or other fundraising activities

sectarian religious activities, political lobbying or legislative activities
-
organization that discriminate on the basis of age, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, political affiliation, or religious belief
-
debt reduction
Letter of Inquiry (LOI)
A Letter of Inquiry (LOI) is the first step in the funding application process. If you meet our eligibility requirements, we invite you to submit a letter telling us about your organization or project and explaining your request. Our board reviews the LOI's on a regular basis, but please allow up to 8 weeks for a response. The Foundation will send a notification either declining your request, or inviting you to submit a full grant application.
Priority of Funding
Priority will be given to applicants that primarily serve South Tacoma, Washington, and to organizations that focus on services that encourage and support education, empower families to improve their quality of life, or engage their communities by influencing a positive change.
